This table was made from Padauk and maple. The red is the woods natural color, no stains or dyes were used. The legs are a tapered bent laminate, which means that each individual strip tapers from 1/8 inch to 1/16 inch in order to keep a consistent grain running through the whole leg without interruption.

It is 20inches tall and 20 inches wide

Great work! Baffled by how the top was made. Can't wrap my head around the method. How big is it?

Thank you. The top is actually a full two inches thick. The top and bottom of the edge of the table is carved away to give the illusion of the thin wave.

I particularly like the exposed joint in each leg, which provides both a geometric contrast to the sinuous curves in the legs and top and a testament to your skill as a joiner.  Brilliant work!

Thank you so much :) Truth be told I would have preferred a hidden joint, but with the leg that thin and it being a bent laminate, it would not have been structurally sound to do so.

Beautiful wood work, and the red wood is stunning. Do you plan to put a glass top on the table, to make the entire surface usable, or keep it simple, and only use the middle for setting things on? :)

Keeping it as is. I like the idea of furniture, that while strictly speaking is functional, won't necessarily be used by whoever buys it. The are intended to be mostly decorative with the illusion of functionality.

Ah, coolness. I can see using one of these to hold up a single statue or figurine which would compliment the shape. Neat idea.
