How do you get the rings into place? Do you cut them and relink them? I would love to know. This looks amazing. Good work.

Thank you.

I start with a large spool of wire that I wrap around different sizes of steel mandrils and then saw off to make the links.

So the small rings are removable? They aren't sealed loops?
Are you making this for a project? Or just for fun?

All the links are cut, but they are all turned inwards so you would have a hell of a time trying to open any of them.

And its for my Intermediate metals class. Heh I knew I wouldn't be able to finish it in just one semester so I got the project approved and started working on it four months ahead of time.

Turned inwards? How? (Sorry for all the questions.... :D I'm just a keen questioner)

Smart. :D I think it's a fantastic idea. Good work. :D

Once I close each link I use my ridiculously tiny needle nose pliers to spin the ring around so that the opening is facing the inside of the piece so that it looks like all the links are solid. Not always possible with every single link, but I do my best.
