Full brass side of my chess set. This side went much faster than the aluminum side mostly due to the fact that I knew what the heck I was doing this time. Total time including both sides is now up to 600 hours.

WOW.

Don't get me wrong, I love your work, and I love to play chess, but... WOW.

600+ hours?! You, sir, are apparently very devoted to your work. Which, I supposed, is not a very bad thing, when you can produce such stunning pieces.

Question: Will you be making an equally stunning board to go along with these pieces?

and eventually yes. Its a much larger project than just a chess set though. The bored will be made of stone and imbeded into a wood table. I'm currently working on the two chairs that will go with the table, so once I finish them I will start the table.
After that will be a chandelier to hang above it all and then finally two metal statues sitting in the chairs playing chess.

Wow, that sounds like quite a project

Question: If you're making figures to go with the board, does this mean you won't play with the chess set itself?

I'll play a few games when the table and chairs are done, but I more see the whole thing as just something to sell and make a living off of. Its my dream to be a starving artist, so I don't really have any attachment to many of my pieces. A lot of emotion goes into making them all, but they are all made with the intention of being sold for the most part.
